My Killer Chai Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 bags black tea
(I prefer Yorkshire Gold)
- 1 pod star anise
- 6-10 pods green cardamom
- 1 tsp. whole black peppercorns
- 1 tsp. whole cloves
- 1 tsp. diced candied ginger
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 1 Tbs. brown sugar (or to taste)
- milk or milk alternative
Directions:
- Put water on to boil
- Add the brown sugar and cinnamon stick to a large mug
- Lightly crush the green cardamom and star anise in a mortar and pestle

Combine all spices other than cinnamon in a steeping basket or similar and place in mug
Alternatively, you may add the spices directly to the mug and then strain them out before drinking
- Carefully fill mug with boiling water and allow spices to steep for 4 minutes
- Add tea bags and allow to steep for a further 4 minutes
- Remove tea bags and spices and stir in milk or milk alternative to taste
- Enjoy!
